through the eye of an artist:
AN ART MEMOIR

art inspires art - part 2

A mother and daughter duo have been coming by the studio the last few months. A few visits back, I shared with them the poem Josh Greep wrote (LINK) about my painting hero. Upon their next visit, the daughter, who is only 15 years old,  presented me with a poem she wrote about my drawing loose ends. The poem is a blend of her own feelings, mixed with some personal meaning I had shared with her, about the piece.
I am moved. Enjoy.

Unspoken Regret
by Sadie Cloud
As she stares out into the distance,
something is amiss.
A pale face,
hesitant gaze.
For a reminder-
Reminder of what is left behind.

Her body hot,
wishing to move forward.
But the darkness holds on.
It's shadows wish-
Wish to be seen.
To be held.

This is the last resort-
To let go.
So she can swim to shore.
To belong in the woods...

Yep, I am definitely gonna keep opening up with others about my art.
Sharing has so much value.

Thank you, Sadie!
