Abel was born in Augsburg, Germany, and currently resides in the United States at the foot of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains in Midvale, Utah. Abel earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Utah State University, graduating summa cum laude. His creative reflexes display themselves in a variety of visual art forms and mediums, ranging from mixed-media abstract sculpture to traditional oil painting.
“My creative side has never been able to limit itself to a particular genre. This has been both liberating and challenging.”
While living in San Diego, California, Abel devoted nine years of his professional life to art education, teaching students of all ages to hone their technical skills while developing their passion and purpose. He has a deeply personal understanding of the impact art can have on a community, and is honored to have shared his work with the public in a variety of galleries and forums. When asked about the future, Abel anticipates that community will become an even bigger driving force in his artistic endeavors.
